What you are agreeing to, in plain language
Short enough to read, which is the only kind of terms worth writing. If a clause here reads as though it exists to protect us from you, tell us, because that is not what it is for.
- Who you are buying from
- Fairway Golf, 12 Links Road, St. Andrews, Fife KY16 9JA. A multi brand retailer. We did not make any of the equipment on this site, and nothing here implies a partnership with the makers whose clubs we sell.
- Prices
- In pounds sterling and including VAT at twenty percent. Carriage is added at the checkout and shown before you agree to anything. A price on the site can change, but never after you have placed an order.
- An order is an offer
- Placing one asks us to sell, and the sale is done when we confirm it. If something is out of stock, priced wrongly or cannot be built to the specs you have asked for, we will ring you and cancel rather than send the wrong thing.
- Custom builds
- A club cut, bent, weighted or regripped to your specs is made for you, so it is outside the usual right to change your mind. We confirm the specs on paper before anything is cut, and we ring you if a maker changes the lead time.
- Fitting sessions
- The fee is due on the day and comes off anything you buy on the day. Tell us twenty four hours ahead if you cannot come and we will move it without charge. Twice in a row without a call and we will ask for the fee up front.
- What we are responsible for
- That what we sell matches its description, fits your specs and is free of faults. We are not responsible for a round that goes badly, a shaft broken in a tree root, or equipment altered by somebody else after it left the bench.
- Your statutory rights
- Nothing here takes away a consumer right you have under UK law. Where a term on this page and the Consumer Rights Act disagree, the Act wins and we will not argue about it at the counter.
- Which law applies
- Scots law, and the courts of Scotland. The shop is in Fife and so is everybody who works in it.

FAIRWAY is a fictional shop, built as a design project. Nothing on this site is a real contract, no order is dispatched and no payment is taken.
